Expodental Meeting 2022 will be remembered as the edition that, leaving the dark years of the pandemic behind, and despite the serious international situation, achieved the goal of recording an attendance almost in the range of the 2019 edition, which had marked a period of double-digit increases.
For three days, from19 to 21 May, Expodental Meeting brought the main industry players back to Rimini.
The leading dental sector associations were the protagonists in the conference hall, while Expo 3D focused on high quality restorative dental treatments, implantology and orthodontics, with live demonstrations by dentists and dental technicians. They worked together to illustrate clinical cases approached by converging the use of software and devices (scanners, printers, milling machines…). This year witnessed a new initiative, Tecnodental Forum, solely dedicated to dental technicians. This pilot event was the testing ground for important future actions. Scientific events were interspersed with workshops organised by companies and marketing courses designed for professionals.
The event totalled about 15,000 visitors, surpassing 2021 numbers by 67%. The numbers of foreign attendees were interesting. Accounting for around 10% of total participants, an increase on the 2019 edition, they indicate the overall recovery of the dental industry, and interest in the sector’s Italian products.
With more than 250 exhibitors, the venue covered a surface area of 20,000 square metres organised in six pavilions, with an important innovative exhibition layout compared to the past. Indeed, after the turnstiles, visitors stepped into the South Hall, designed and furnished also by companies, associations and the Press, all of whom believed in the new layout. The floor plan was studied to welcome visitors and instantly introduce them into the absolutely sparkling atmosphere of this edition.
In partnership with ICE, UNIDI welcomed to Expodental Meeting a large foreign delegation comprising over 70 dealers selected by ICE Agenzia (Italian Trade Agency) from 20 countries: Albania, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Egypt, Georgia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Oman, Pakistan, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey, Hungary and Vietnam. This significant result is the outcome of the joint commitment of UNIDI and ICE Agenzia – in a spirit of constant cooperation with Italian entrepreneurs – as well as of Italian Exhibition Group, the trade fair company hosting Expodental Meeting in its exhibition venue in Rimini.
“We are happy,” said the UNIDI President, Gianfranco Berrutti, “because Expodental Meeting has lived up to its initial expectations, confirming its leadership among Italy’s dental sector events. It is an unmissable professional development opportunity for all players in the sector to discuss experiences and share information. An international showcase of dental production, an event that has successfully met the demands of its target.”
“I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the companies and visitors who believed in Expodental Meeting,” said the President, “and to all the Associations, Universities and scientific partners who, together with UNIDI, contributed to developing the training programme, underscoring its crucial importance.”
See you on 18-20 May 2023, always at the South Gate.
